A Whippet is a member of the site hound group. Many Whippet owners say that they are the best-kept secret of the dog world, because they are beautiful to look at and beautiful on the inside too. They are extremely affectionate, and love to cuddle. They are often mistaken for a puppy of a better-known breed of dog, the Greyhound. However, standing 18-22 inches high at the withers and weighing only 25-30 pounds when full grown, they are half the size of a Greyhound.
